🦋 Personality

1. Has your character always believed in magic? Do they have something influencing their perspective on the supernatural/metaphysical/spiritual from their past? How do they feel about magic?

Yes, Eirene believes in magic. She was turned by a priestess of Lilith. Her bloodline is founded on magic and mysticism. It's something she has pursued, studying different rituals as well as advancing her Discipline to a high tier. She stole several blood rituals from the Tremere so she may know what secrets they've hoarded. She's aware of the different supernatural creatures in the world. She also knows how to view the realm of the dead and summon specters. She hasn't heard of faeries outside of legends, but that wouldn't really shock her. She loves to study magic and would want to continue pursue that, no matter where she is. She's essentially a sponge, sucking up all the rituals she can. If she has the chance, she'll commit what she learns to her Grimoire, which she always keeps by her side. Magic is a key part of who she is.

2. What mythological creature would your character most like to be? Which do they identify with? Which would they dread being?

Eirene would be a djinn, if she could be any mythical creatures. Djinn live in desert regions and Eirene lived her mortal life in Byzantium. In various cultures, dinner can grant wishes, which Eirene has done in the past, when it pleases her. However, they are thought to be malevolent forces that can't be trusted. Eirene's reputation is that she's essentially the Devil. Among the members of the Garden, she's the Serpent of Eden, someone who can’t be trusted. Djinn are also known to take the form of snakes. Beyond that, they can take any form they want. One of Eirene's spells can have her become a non-descript person in a crowd. Djinn also live separate from humans, preferring not to meddle in their affairs. They choose instead to live in their own societal arrangements. Eirene rarely deals with mortals, save for rare occasions. She has created her own arrangement, trying to build a place separate from the mortal world. She has a great deal in common with Djinn. I don't think she really fears being any specific creature. Eirene is already viewed as evil. There's nothing really horrifying beyond that.

3. If there's one person your character would follow to another realm, who would it be and why? If there's no one, state that and explain why.

The person Eirene might follow is either Clotho or Adam. Despite Arcadia being the sister Eirene was closest to as a mortal, Clotho became both her ally and confidant as a vampire. They searched for Arcadia for centuries, relying on each other. When Clotho died, a part of Eirene's humanity died with her. It's why she tried to endure Arcadia for as long as she did. She wanted that family that she lost, even though it was clear that Arcadia was too maniacal to reach. After Clotho, Adam was the last person Eirene fully cared about. It's not clear if she viewed him just as a protégé or if her feelings ran deeper. Either way, she tried to look after him. Arcadia disrupted those plans. Eirene was inevitably the cause of Adam's death. By trying to hurt Arcadia, she was the architect of her own suffering. After Liam killed Adam, she never forgot Adam, even looking after his children, mainly for him. She's spent the rest of her life missing him.

4. If you'd like pixies to change one event in your character's life, what would it be and why?

I don't think that there's an event either I or Eirene would want to be changed. Everything that's happened to her has shaped her into what she was. Even the darker moments of her life have changed her. The loss of her sire lead her to hunt the Giovanni and to seek out Arcadia. Her pain makes her who she is, she needs her pain. That makes a compelling figure. Eirene enjoys being dark, deceitful, and untrustworthy. It helps shield her, but it means that she can act as needed to achieve what she wants. None of this would happen unless she were the last Lamia and the last Cappadocian. Without these events, she would never be as strong as she wished.

5. What is your character's most outstanding personality trait, and why?

Eirene's most outstanding personality trait is her patience. She's lived a long unlife. The one thing she's learned is that the years pass quickly. To achieve what she wants, the groundwork must be laid and allies must be found, that could take hundreds of years. Nothing will be gained by impulse. This also extends to people. If she is insulted or threatened, it's better to let it roll off of her and endure. Whether or not she gets revenge is dependent on how things escalate. She's not intimidated by threats and she's not bothered by insults. It's more amusing, as it seems to be aspects of young vampire behavior. She's too old to be bothered or made to feel small. Her patience helped her become stronger and more mature.

6. Your character gets to return home, but when they do they learn that they've been gone for hundreds of years. How do they react?

Given Eirene has slept for hundreds of years, it wouldn't be so strange to her to return home and find that time has passed. She has no loved ones to worry about or be scared of losing. All that might bother her is having to adjust again to different technologies and different cultures. It's a bit annoying to have to abandon the norms she's known to have to relearn new ones. Being in one realm or another, it will be the same adjustment. She doesn't care which one she remains in, so long as she can find something to hold her interest. Such as new magic to learn. She's able to adjust to changes rather easily. She's had lots of practice over the years.
